Early Life and Education
Born in Skýdra, Pella, Greece, Fr. Christos pursued his early education at 1o GYMNASIO SKYDRAS before moving on to further studies. He attended ΑΙΣΘ and later graduated from Flinders University. His academic and theological training has been instrumental in shaping his pastoral approach and deep understanding of Orthodox Christian teachings.
Pastoral Service
Fr. Christos has served the Greek Orthodox community in Australia for over three decades. His pastoral journey began in Adelaide, where he ministered to the faithful at St. Dimitrios Orthodox Church in Salisbury. Over the years, he has been a guiding light for his parish, offering spiritual guidance, conducting services, and organizing community events that foster unity and faith.
Special Initiatives and Contributions
- Orthodox Christology Lectures: Fr. Christos is known for his scholarly approach to Orthodox theology. In December 2020, he initiated a three-part Christmas lecture series titled “Who is Christ?” aimed at exploring Orthodox Christology. These lectures laid the groundwork for a year-long Christological Studies Course in 2021, reflecting his commitment to deepening the community’s understanding of their faith.
- Anzac Day Participation: Apart from his clerical duties, Fr. Christos honors his heritage and military background by participating in Anzac Day events. As the President of the Greek Ex-Servicemen Association of South Australia, he swaps his clerical attire for camouflage to pay tribute to those who served in the Great War. His efforts in this role include advocating for the preservation of the Association’s legacy and the establishment of a mini-Hellenic War Museum.

As the current Rector of St. Savvas of Kalymnos Greek Orthodox Church in Palmerston, NT, Fr. Christos continues to lead with compassion and dedication. His vision for the parish includes fostering a strong sense of community, deepening the spiritual lives of the faithful, and ensuring the parish remains a beacon of Orthodox Christianity in the Northern Territory.
Fr. Christos also organizes weekly Bible studies every Tuesday at 7 pm, providing an opportunity for parishioners to engage with the Scriptures and grow in their faith. These sessions are a testament to his ongoing commitment to education and spiritual growth within the church community.
